Click here to read an interview with one of our Club Angels in the Financial Times 28/2/15.
We are a bunch of Christians who have a heart for the clubbing scene, nightlife, today's culture and generation. Our aim is to 'chat, help, listen and care', and we are often helping people who are drunk or upset, being a listening ear, supporting the staff, and offering prayer. Since April 2013 we have been working in nightclubs in Croydon, and central London.
Club Angels work with the nightclub / pub staff. We often work in the busy areas assisting with glass collection, in female toilets being a listening ear and assisting with people who have become unwell, and in the outside and front door areas working to ensure people get on their way home safely. We are also there for the staff - to offer a listening ear, support, etc.
We wear t-shirts which display the logo and job description – to‘help, chat, listen and care’, which is what we do. The t-shirts also say‘p.s. we’re Christians, ask us more if you want'. We share our faith through acts of kindness and this often leads to responding to frequently asked questions people have about life, the world, God, and the universe.
Above everything else, we seek to love the person in front of us – in whatever ways we can.
In September 2014 we were featured on the BBC! A lovely film crew joined us one night and you can see our feature here: Croydon Club Angels on Street Patrol UK
